Our experience in this market includes the servicing of spare parts requirements for marine clutches,
brakes,
couplings
and friction
material used in marine propulsion and deck equipment. Our products
and expertise extend to any make crane, hoist, anchor windlass and
auxiliary drive system. We have successfully retrofitted old style
clutches and brakes with modern technology for the Navy and a wide variety
of commercial vessels. Another area with which we are quite familiar is
torsional vibration and its related
problems
and solutions. We can also supply new or rebuilt air starters for
large horsepower diesel engines.
Tugs
The Rowland Company supplies parts and service for all types of
brakes and
clutches in the marine industry. Eaton-Airflex and Falk account for
90% of the air clutches used on marine gears and transmissions. We stock
Falk style clutches in 30", 35", 40", and 48" sizes, as well as drums and
related parts. Our
shop
also relines clutch shoes, brake bands and friction discs for any
application. Torsional couplings from Eaton/Geislinger, Centa, Vulkan and
Holset are also part of our marine offerings.
Also we have a wide
range of cutless and stave bearings. A variety of sizes are standard or
bearings can be custom fabricated. In addition bearings we can also supply
cooling, sealing and fendering systems.
Barge
The Rowland Company supplies brake linings for most any type of
brake band used on dredges or cranes. We also supply new steel bands to
your specifications.
Most pumping engine packages use a bell
housing PTO on the engine and a Spicer
universal
joint driveshaft between the PTO and the pump. Our Wichita mechanical
PTO eliminates the pilot bearing that is used by Twin-Disc and Rockford in
these designs and replaces it with an inexpensive clutch. Thereby,
reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
