The Rowland Company uses Scan-Pac non-asbestos friction materials to reline various motion control parts. Since 1977, Scan-Pac has been manufacturing quality friction materials for a broad range of applications. Their product range includes woven and molded flexible roll lining, rigid blocks, facings and pads and phenolic bearings. The materials include high and low coefficients of friction that provide smooth consistent service. Whether it is a stock or custom friction product, the Rowland Company and Scan-Pac can provide a material to meet your needs.

Rigid Molded Blocks, Gear Tooth Facings, Pads Rigid friction blocks are most commonly used in overhead cranes, hoists, winches, crane and shovel bands, and mining equipment. Gear tooth facings can be found in various clutch applications. There is a wide range of friction levels to accommodate various applications. The strength of rigid molded material is that it exhibits low wear and consistent friction level. All rigid friction lining is made from non-asbestos material. FLEXIBLE ROLL LINING Molded and Woven Flexible roll lining is used primarily because of its flexible nature. The material can bend and conform to almost any radius. Flexible roll lining is available in molded and woven materials. The molded roll lining is a general purpose material with a medium friction level. The woven roll lining is used in heavy duty applications and has a high friction level. All flexible roll lining is made from non-asbestos material. Flexible Roll Lining - View the 248k PDF file.
KEVLAR® Friction Material KEVLAR friction material is a space-age material that combines KEVLAR® fibers with a polymer resin. The fibers' properties include high strength, non-abrasiveness and resistance to heat and tearing. These properties make the friction material extremely durable and effective, yet it does not wear the mating surface. This material can be used to provide longer wear in both clutches and brakes. Please contact the Rowland Company for more information on your KEVLAR® friction needs.
